Tube India 2008
New Location for Tube India International 2008
– A Very Positive Step
Messe Düsseldorf GmbHtogetherwith its new Indian subsidiary,Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt.Ltd.and Messe Essen GmbH (organiser of Schweissen und Schneiden Essen), will once again jointly organise the3rd Tube India Internationaland Schweissen & Schneiden Indiaexhibitionsfrom 13-15 February, 2008 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. A concurrent event, Metallurgy India, will also take place.
Tube India International 2008 is presented and managed by the organisers ofTube Düsseldorf, the world\'s No.1 Trade Fair for the tube and pipe industries. It was decided to re-locate the exhibition to New Delhi for several reasons. New Delhi is the heart of India and Tube India International 2008 is now a showcase event.Officials and decision makers from the Government of India, public and private sectors are very much based in the capital of the country and in nearby business areas.
Major users of steel, e.g. manufacturers of components, bicycles, etc. are based in North India. New Delhi is well connected and has the best of world-renowned hotels, making it more convenient for people to travel and stay in the city, notwithstanding that the month of February is the ideal time to visit the beautiful sights of this historical place.
The move from south to north India was a conscious decision as the users of steel on a large scale are based in the north of the country. Tube India International 2008 provides an opportunity to have mutually beneficial business relations for both domestic and overseas exhibitors. The show will also provide ample opportunity to view the latest technology and know-how in the metal industry in India today. The last exhibition, held in February 2005 at the HITEX Fair Grounds, Hyderabad, attracted 114 exhibitors and 5000 visitors. In 2008, about 150 exhibitors and 7000 visitors are expected to participate.
Pragati Maidan, India\'s world-class exhibition complex, covers 149 acres of prime land in the heart of India\'s capital. It offers about 61,290 sqm of covered exhibition space in 16 halls plus 10,000 sqm of open display area. The state-of-the-art exhibition halls have enhanced the appeal of Pragati Maidan as the ideal center for an increasing number of fair organisers and business visitors from different parts of the world.
Mr. Udo Schürtzmann, a seasoned trade show expert with a wealth of international experience, is the Managing Director of the new Messe Düsseldorf Indian subsidiary. He comments, ¡®¡¯entering the Indian market presents us with a formidable challenge. In the years ahead, our aim is to consolidate our own business and ramp up Messe Düsseldorf\'s agency activities on the subcontinent¡¯¡¯.
As an important supporting event for the exhibition, the International Tube Association will be holding a conference in New Delhi on the eve of the exhibition, 12th February 2008, offering even more reasons for tube and pipe industry professionals to congregate in the capital next year. For details of the conference ¡°Pipe Dream India – Innovations & Technical Realities for Tube & Pipe Production¡±
