The EUCCK is pleased to inform you that the “2007 EU-KOREA AWARDS” will be presented on Tuesday, November 20th at Hotel Shilla. The awards were introduced last year to honor member companies and government authorities who have made a significant contribution to strengthening the relationship between EU and Korea.
This year, the award ceremony will be held in the presence of H.E. Prime Minister Han, Duck-Soo. Holding this event in his presence shows our commitment to strengthen ties with the Korean government, which is of utmost importance to the members, for doing effective business in the country.
The Awards are an annual feature of our Chamber\'s activities, and we will also be looking at increasing the categories in the future.
EU companies which have shown exemplary performance in their investment initiatives and social responsibilities will be eligible for either of the three categories of Awards:
1. LEADING INVESTOR
This award will be presented to a company which has shown remarkable corporate behavior in terms of the quantum of investment made, technology brought into Korea and employment generation in 2007. The Awards Committee will also take into account the industry sector in which the company operates and the benefits it brings to the local economy.
2. SME STAR
The award will be given to a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) which has shown agility in overcoming various difficulties and establishing a viable business in Korea in 2007. The potential for future growth will also be taken into account.
3. SOCIAL BENEFACTOR
Companies that worked voluntarily towards the development of society in 2007 will be presented this award. They will have to demonstrate a clearly defined, measurable long term plan of social responsibility. The scope of work could be in areas like community development, empowerment of vulnerable groups, environmental preservation, education, family welfare, or promotion of arts, crafts and culture.
Please be informed that FULL, ALTERNATE and ASSOCIATE members of EUCCK are eligible for these awards. Applicants may apply for more than one category.
In addition, if you have any recommendations for the awards to government authorities, do let us know. You could recommend any authorities who have been helpful in your business dealings. The award categories are the “Most Responsive”, “Most Efficient” and “Most Globalized”. We will be giving the awards to government authorities based on the strength of the recommendations that we receive.
