Global crude steel output increases 21.9%

It was reported on September 21st that the global crude steel output in August grew 4.2 precent, to 112.871 million tons.

Meanwhile, China¡¯s crude steel output was 51.6 million tons in August, dropping by 1.1 percent compared to last August.

Besides, its total output from January to August increased by 15.3 percent to 425.774 million tons compared to the same period of last year.

According to the data, the global steel output in August has returned to the level in 2008. Although, the steel production in developing countries such as China, Turkey, and Iran has returned the normal level before global financial crisis, the output in developed countries, such as US, Germany, Italy, and Japan haven¡¯t fully recovered yet.
