NMDC to double iron ore export prices

According to report, Asia’s third-largest iron ore miner NMDC ltd announced that it would double its price of fines to Japan and South Korea’s mills. It will also apply to quarterly contracts following the global miner Vale SA.
It will sell its iron ore fines at about US$122/ton in the second quarter of 2010 and the price has been settled last week.
Also, the company will incase its production by about 23 percent to 37 million tons from December and it has begun operations at a new mine in Bailadila in eastern state of Chhattisgarh.
