Chinese HDG prices surge

After CRC market increased strongly, the price of China domestic hot galvanized steel also posted an increase, but it is weaker than CRC overall.
The price of 1.0 mm hot galvanized steel was at CNY 5000 to CNY 5150 per ton in Shanghai up nearly CNY 100 per tonne from the early December while the price of the same specification product stood at CNY 5250 to CNY 5350 per tonne in Guangzhou up by CNY 150 per ton around from early December.
However presently the price of hot galvanized steel is basically in line with the price of CRC. The hot galvanized steel demand had been weaker than CRC since this year, which was mainly due to that the China's hot galvanized steel products are mostly low-end and can not be used the manufacturing of the auto or home appliance, therefore, the boom auto and home appliance markets promoted the demand of CRC and the impact on galvanized steel was limited.
