ArcelorMittal increases HRC prices for imports into India

It is reported that traditional suppliers of HRC in to India like Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese steel mills are increasing their offers due to limited availability and stronger demand from many regions. In view of a strong demand from the Asian markets and limited offers from China today, almost all mills are looking at pushing up the HR coil prices in the Indian market.
Chinese threat of low prices HRC import has diminished with their offers of HRC in SS400 grade for 3mm to 12mm in 1250/1500mm width coming at USD 490 per tonne to USD 500 per tonne on FOB basis.
On the other hand with Russian rouble strengthening against the USD Russian mills have no choice than to offer higher quotes for New Year production. Another factor supporting the attempt to hike price is reports of their mills are adequately covered with order books
