Slowdown signs - Chinese container throughput in October down by 3pct YoY

According to Transport Ministry, China ports saw a 2.6%YoY decrease in container traffic in October handling 10.78 million TEUs.
Container traffic at sea ports totalled 9.67 million TEUs slipping 2.7% on the year.
The port of Shanghai recorded the biggest volume but also the heftiest drop with traffic there sliding 9.6% to 2.17 million TEU. It was followed by Shenzhen both by volume and pace of decline. On the upside, October container volumes at Guangzhou rose the most by 11.6% to 956,000 TEUs.
China port container traffic in the first 10 months of the year was down 7.1% to 99.89 million TEUs.
