Chinese domestic steel prices continue strengthening

Chinese Steel Prices improved marginally on April 29th 2009. The Chinese Long Product Price Index CLPPI improved by 26 points, whereas the Chinese Flat Products Index showed minor correction of 13 points. The overall Chinese Steel Price Index CHISPI improved by 19 points.
Driven by inventory decrease and ex works price hike attempted by steel mills, long product prices exhibited somber revival at all major locations. Flat as usual follows suite in half hearted fashion.
